Importing from eBay
Pull your existing eBay listings into RocketVault to manage everything in one place.
Overview
If you already have active listings on eBay, you don't need to re-photograph and re-upload every card. eBay Import pulls your existing listings directly into RocketVault, creating inventory entries with all the listing data, images, and pricing already populated.
Seller Plan Required
eBay Import is available on the Seller plan ($39/mo) and above. The button appears for lower tiers but prompts you to upgrade if you click it. Stores larger than 2,500 active listings need a staged import — contact support so we can pace it under your daily eBay API budget.
How Import Works
When you import from eBay, RocketVault:
- Fetches your active eBay listings via the eBay API
- Downloads listing images and stores them in your RocketVault account
- Runs RocketAI identification on each card to extract structured metadata
- Creates inventory entries with the card linked to its existing eBay listing
- Syncs pricing and status so your RocketVault inventory matches eBay
The result is a fully managed inventory entry that's linked to the live eBay listing — any changes you make in RocketVault can be pushed back to eBay.
Importing All Listings
Step 01
Connect eBay
Make sure your eBay account is connected in Settings → Integrations. See the Listing Cards on eBay guide if you haven't set this up yet.
Step 02
Go to Cards
Navigate to the Cards page from the sidebar. The import action lives in the inventory header (top-right action row), above the AVAILABLE / DRAFTS / ACTIVE / HISTORY tabs.
Step 03
Click Import existing listings
Click Import existing listings in the header action row. An inline import panel slides open, scans your connected eBay account, and shows a count of listings that aren't yet in RocketVault.
Step 04
Click Import All
The panel shows the total eBay listings detected and how many are not yet in the app. Click Import All to pull every missing listing.
Step 05
Watch the streaming progress
Import runs as a streaming operation — you'll see a real-time progress bar with page-by-page counts: scanned, imported, skipped (already in app), and failed. The most recently imported title also surfaces below the bar so you can confirm it's pulling the right items. For large stores (500+ listings), this can take several minutes. You can cancel at any time, and partial progress is preserved.
Step 06
Review imported cards
Imported cards go through the same AI identification pipeline as uploaded cards. High-confidence identifications are marked READY_FOR_LISTING; uncertain ones land on the AVAILABLE tab with an attention chip flagging the unresolved fields.
Re-enrichment
After import, you can republish imported listings to enhance them with RocketVault's AI:
- Improved titles — RocketAI generates SEO-optimized eBay titles
- Better descriptions — Structured HTML descriptions with card attributes
- Accurate categorization — Correct eBay category and item specifics
- Market pricing — Updated pricing from the RocketVault Pricing Database
A republish creates a brand-new eBay listing (new item ID), so use this judiciously — you'll lose watchers and the lifetime view counter on the old listing. For an in-place revise that preserves watchers, use the Refresh Stale Listings flow instead.
What Gets Imported
| eBay Data | RocketVault Field |
|---|---|
| Listing title | Card name (also parsed by AI for structured metadata) |
| Item images | Card front/back images |
| Current price | Market price / list price |
| Item specifics | Mapped to card attributes (player, year, set, etc.) |
| Listing status | Synced status (Active, Ended, Sold) |
| eBay item ID | Linked for ongoing sync |
Syncing After Import
Once listings are imported, RocketVault keeps them in sync:
- Status sync — detects when items sell, end, or get relisted on eBay
- Price updates — changes made in RocketVault can be pushed to eBay
- New listings — cards you list through RocketVault are automatically tracked
Use the Sync listings button in the inventory header to pull the latest status from eBay at any time. The dropdown lets you choose between Sync app listings (only listings managed by RocketVault) and Sync all eBay listings (every listing in your eBay account).
Common Questions
Will importing affect my live eBay listings? No. Import is read-only — it pulls data from eBay into RocketVault but doesn't modify your live listings in any way.
What if I've already uploaded some of these cards manually? You may end up with duplicates. After importing, run Duplicate Consolidation to merge any overlapping entries — the Consolidate duplicates button is in the inventory header next to Import existing listings.
Can I import ended or sold listings? Currently, import only pulls active listings. Sold items are detected through the ongoing sync process after import.
How long does a full import take? It depends on your store size. Typical times: 50 listings in ~2 minutes, 500 listings in ~15 minutes, 1000+ listings in ~30 minutes. The streaming progress bar shows real-time status.
Why is the Import button greyed out? Either eBay isn't connected (fix in Settings → Integrations) or you're on a plan below Seller. eBay import requires the Seller plan or above.
