Getting Started for Collectors

A step-by-step guide for collectors — organize, price, and track your card collection with RocketVault.

Overview

If you collect sports cards and want to know what your collection is worth, stay organized, and track market trends — this guide is for you. No eBay selling required.

Step 1: Create Your Account

  1. Go to app.rocketvault.io and sign up — every new account gets 14 days of full Enterprise access automatically, no credit card or code required
  2. Sign up with email/password or Continue with Google
  3. Verify your email if you signed up with a password
  4. After 14 days your account moves to the Free plan (100 cards, kept forever). Upgrade to Collector ($14.99/mo) for unlimited AI and full analytics, or to any higher tier

Paid plans get 20% off when billed annually.

Step 2: Upload Your Cards

The fastest way to digitize your collection:

  1. Click Vault → Upload in the sidebar (or tap the center camera button on mobile)
  2. Single Card — Capture front and back from your phone camera
  3. Multi-Card Scan — Batch-capture up to 50 cards (100 photos) in one mobile session, then auto-pair
  4. Files — Pick from your photo gallery, or drag a ZIP file on desktop (Collector batches up to 50 cards per ZIP)
  5. RocketAI identifies each card automatically — player, set, year, card number, parallel, and more

Naming Convention

On desktop, name your photos with _F and _B suffixes to pair front and back images automatically. Example: trout_F.jpg and trout_B.jpg. The suffixes and separator are configurable under Settings → Naming.

Step 3: Review and Organize

After upload, cards land on the Available tab inside Vault → All Cards. Some may carry an orange attention chip if the AI wasn't 100% confident:

  1. Filter to Needs Attention on the Available tab to see flagged cards
  2. Click the chip on a row to fix the flagged fields in Quick Edit
  3. Saving auto-promotes the card to Ready when the last review reason resolves

For long queues, click Focus Review on the Available tab to launch the keyboard-driven workspace (A approve, S skip, F flip, ← → navigate, Esc close). The active filter chip carries through, so a category-scoped chip plus Focus Review = a tight queue of just one type of issue.

Organize with Collections

Create collections to group your cards:

  • "My PC" (personal collection)
  • "2024 Topps Chrome"
  • "Yankees"
  • "Graded Cards"

See Collections & Wishlist for details.

Tag Your Cards

Use tags for flexible categorization:

  • Source: "Card Show March 2026", "Hobby Box"
  • Status: "Send to Grade", "Trade Bait"

Free plan includes 5 tags. Collector includes 50.

Step 4: Know What Your Cards Are Worth

Every card gets automatic pricing from RocketVault Pricing:

  • Market Price — current estimated value
  • Price Source — where the price came from (RocketVault Pricing, eBay comps, or rules)
  • Confidence Score — how reliable the price estimate is

Multi-Source Pricing

On the Collector plan, you get unlimited multi-source pricing — prices pull from RocketVault Pricing first, then eBay market data, with confidence scores so you know how reliable each price is.

Track Your Portfolio Value

The Dashboard shows your total collection value, top cards, value distribution by sport, and trends over time. The Collector plan unlocks the full Dashboard with P&L tracking, AI insights, and the inventory pipeline.

Step 5: Watch the Market

Use Vault Agent to spot live eBay listings priced below market.

Vault Agent — deal-finding by conversation

Looking to buy? Open the RocketVault Agent (the entry near the top of the sidebar, or press Cmd-K on desktop) and ask: "Find me deals on Patrick Mahomes rookies under $200" or "Best deals on 2023 Topps Chrome right now". The agent scans live listings and returns rich deal cards with prices, deal scores, and click-through buy links.

Wishlist

Track specific cards in Vault → Wishlist. Each row deep-links to live eBay searches so you can grab one when the price is right.

Free Plan Preview

Free plan users get a real home page, not just an upgrade banner — the Get set up to sell checklist plus a locked preview of the Daily Briefing. Full P&L tracking and the deeper analytics light up on Collector and above.

For most collectors, the Collector plan ($14.99/mo) is the sweet spot:

  • 1,000 cards (enough for most personal collections)
  • Unlimited AI identification
  • Full Dashboard (P&L, value distribution, actions queue)
  • Vault Agent — chat-driven deal-finding included
  • CSV export for backup and analysis
  • 10 collections for organization
  • Every signup gets 14 days of Enterprise free — no credit card, no code

If you're just getting started, the Free plan (100 cards) lets you try everything before committing.
